1. Airbus A320 crashes in southern France, 148 feared dead

Airbus A320 GermanwingsThe Airbus A320 operated by Germanwings, a budget subsidiary of Lufthansa, was less than an hour from landing in Duesseldorf on a flight from Barcelona when it unexpectedly went into a rapid descent. The pilots sent out no distress call and had lost radio contact with their control center.
A black box recovered from the scene and pulverised pieces of debris strewn across Alpine mountainsides held clues to what caused a German jetliner to take an unexplained eight-minute dive Tuesday midway through a flight from Spain to Germany, apparently killing all 150 people on board.Germanwings is low-cost carrier owned by Lufthansa, Germany’s biggest airline, and serves mostly European destinations. 

2. 62nd National Film awards : Haider bags five national awards, Kangana Ranaut is best actress

Vishal Bharadwaj's Haider won big at the 62nd National Film awards with five awards
Kangana Ranaut bagged the best actress for her clinching role in Vikas Bahl's Queen. 
Chaitanya Tamhane's Court won best film while Kanada actor Vijay won best actor for Nanu Avanalla Avalu. 
Queen also bagged award for the best Hindi feature film.
Mary Kom won an award for being the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, 
Srijit Mukherji bagged the best director award for Chotuskone. Chotuskone also won the best cinematography (Sudeep Chatterjee) and best original screenplay (Srijit Mukherji).



3. World Cup 1st Semi Final : NZ Shed History, South Africa Some Tears In Thriller


New Zealand beat South Africa with a six off the penultimate ball to reach the World Cup final for the first time.
With five needed from two balls, Grant Elliott hit Dale Steyn into the stands to finish unbeaten on 84 and seal a four-wicket win in Auckland.
Elliott and Corey Anderson's 58 had lifted the Black Caps from 149-4 in their chase of a rain-adjusted 298.
South Africa had earlier posted 281-5, with Faf du Plessis making 82, in a match reduced to 43 overs per side.

4. 17 mega food parks across the country

17 mega food parks
The Centre today allocated the development of 17 mega food parks across the country to state governments and private firms, including Adani Ports & SEZ, envisaging an investment of over Rs 6,000 crore
Five state governments, Punjab, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, have been allocated one food park each, while Kerala government has been allocated 2 food parks.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Jain Agro Trading Company and Ruchi Acroni Industries are among 10 private players who have been allocated food parks by the Centre
