SSC CGL 2017 Online Application form date extended . SSC has issued an important notice which states that last date to apply online for SSC CGL Application is extended to 19th June 2017. Earlier the last date for applying was 16th June 2017.




The online registration for SSC CGL 2017 started on 16th May 2017. The last date to apply is 16th June 2017. Therefore start applying before the last date. See below the latest SSC CGL 2017 exam schedule:

How to Apply for SSC CGL 2017 ?

  1. Visit the official website ssc.nic.in
  2. You will find an application form window appearing in front of you.
  3. The SSC CGL Online Application Form 2017 splits in two different parts i.e. Part-1 and Part-2.
  4. Start with Part-1 in which candidates need to fill in details like Applicant Name, Category, Email ID, Address, Phone Number Education, Date of Birth, etc.
  5. After filling, click on “I agree” button.
  6. In Part-2 registration, fill in the payment details, scanned signature and photograph upload.
  7. Kindly pay the requisite fee through SBI Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card or Challan.
  8. Make sure the photograph you upload should be of JPG format and your scanned signature in JPG format.
  9. Take a print- out of your application form.
  10. The candidate will receive an application form after completion of part II of application process.


Application Fee and Modes of Payment 

  1. The SSC CGL application fee is Rs. 100/-.
  2. Exemption: Female candidates need not pay even a penny. Same is in the case of SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen candidates and Physically Handicapped.
  3. In order to pay cash, the candidate needs to take a print out of challan generated online. Deposit the amount in the nearest branch of SBI and rest you can continue with part II registration.
  4. In online payment case, a candidate will have to give details of registration number and DOB to carry forward the application process to part II.

c. Interview: 35 Marks
i) The above main online tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

ii) Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests of the online examinations

iii) A candidate has to qualify in Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.

iv) There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination).1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

v) Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter for examination from the RBI’s website.

vi) Roll No. of the candidates successful in preliminary online examination will be made available on RBI’s website in January 2017. The Roll No. of candidates successful in main online examination will be available on RBI’s website and a brief notice thereof will be published on the Bank’s website in February/March 2017.

vii) Only such number of candidates will be called for interview who stand sufficiently high in merit on the aggregate marks of the Objective Tests, such merit being decided by the Bank in relation to the number of vacancies to be filled in.

viii) Final selection will be on the basis of candidate's performance in the online main examination and interview taken together in order of merit.


Pay Scale:

Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹ 14650/- per month (i.e. ₹ 13150 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates only) in the scale of 13150-750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)-26200-1300 (2)-28800- 1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years) and other allowances , viz. Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants is approximately ₹ 32124/-

1. Candidates may go to the RBI website www.rbi.org.in and click on the option "Recruitment for the post of Assistant" which will open a new screen.

2. To register application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent.

3. In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing "SAVE AND NEXT" tab. Prior to submission of the online application candidates are advised to use the "SAVE AND NEXT" facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify/ get the details verified to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission.

4. Candidates are advised to carefully fill and verify the details filled in the online application themselves as no change will be possible/ entertained after clicking the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON.

Eligibility Requirements

Indian Nationals who have Engineering Degree/Diploma holders and passed the qualifying examination in the year 2013, 2014 and 2015 from Engineering/Polytechnic colleges only need to apply.


Candidates who have been engaged previously as apprentice/are undergoing apprenticeship training at BNPM or elsewhere under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible to apply.

Candidates who have got more than one year of work experience are not eligible to apply.

All the qualifications specified above should be recognized by Board of Technical Education/UGC/AICTE. Candidates belonging to General & OBC Category must have 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination (Engineering/Diploma),  whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST must have 50% marks in aggregate. Wherever CGPA/OGPA or letter grade in a degree is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per the norm adopted by the University/Institute. The candidates have to submit a certificate indicating the  method/formula used for conversion of letter grade/CGPA/OGPA to equivalent percentage.

Percentage of marks should be aggregate of all years/semesters i.e., total marks obtained over total maximum marks of all years/semesters without giving any weightage to any particular year/semester, irrespective of the method used by the University/Institution.

Selection Process
The selection process shall consist of written test and/or personal interview followed by pre-employment medical fitness test. The candidates will have to qualify successfully through each stage of the selection process i.e. Written Test and/or Personal Interview. Also, the candidates have to pass the pre-employment medical fitness test as per rules. The company shall not reimburse any expenses incurred by the candidate on account of travelling, boarding, lodging for attending written test and/or interview.
